Rare breeds were in demand today at Junction 36. A packed ringside saw a customer group after pigs, cattle, goats and sheep.
Clearance rate was incredibly high with a solid trade throughout. A top price of £400 for a Ryeland ram from CA Blezard & Son, Conder Green.
Trade of the day was from Tom Crosdale with three pens of continental cross gimmer shearlings averaging £230, topping at £240. Valais Blacknose ewes with lambs topped at £240 from S Whitwell, Kendal.
Goats averaged £140.
Cattle were a nice trade with some Shetland heifers making £900 and a Highland cow making £1000.
A very successful day was had right through, with hopes of another sale very soon.
